Sideshow Collectibles a fait une flopée d'annonces ce mois-ci, révélant de nouveaux produits qui ont ainsi rythmé le Comic-Con et même amener à révéler qu'ils ont obtenu les droits des personnages de la licence DC Comics. Cela ne signifie pas qu'ils ne se concentreront pas sur les autres franchises durant le salon. Aujourd'hui, l'entreprise a annoncé un nouveau format visant à répondre aux plus exigeants des collectionneurs.

Ce nouveau format est appelé Legendary Scale Figure. Similaires aux célèbre Premium Format Figure de Sideshow, ceux-ci semblent être aussi mixtes dans les matériaux, avec des statues qui mélangent de la résine et du tissu. La principale différence entre les deux formats, semble être l'échelle et la qualité. Sideshow décrit ce format des Legendary Scale Figure, en disant: «L'augmentation de l’échelle avec les Legendary Scale Figure ™ permet de fournir aux artisans de Sideshow une plus grande créativité, permettant de générer plus de détails et de réalisme dans la sculpture, l'application de peinture et la fabrication de costumes. Le champ de sculpture est plus large et permet de créer des possibilités plus important pour amener le réalisme plus loin encore et aussi d’accroitre les détail et la ressemblance d'un personnage, l'expression faciale, et les caractéristiques le définissant, y compris la peau et la texture des cheveux, et des cicatrices. De même, l'application de peinture peut être exécutée avec plus de précision pour un ombrage naturel ou plus subtil et plus de détails sur la texture. L’échelle permet aux vêtements d’être plus fidèle, ce qui fournit une occasion unique d’avoir un meilleur ajustement et une précision supplémentaire dans les costumes, y compris une plus grande authenticité dans le choix des tissus et des finitions ou encore des poches, des ceintures et des fermetures. "

Les Legendary Scale Figure de Sideshow sont à l’échelle 1:2. Mais, la compagnie a indiqué que les ces pièces ne correspond pas nécessairement à cette échelle, mais chaque personnages aura une correspondance fidèle à l’échelle de façon a ce qu’ils aient une même taille et des proportions homogènes.

Ces photos montrent les preview de réalisations sur les franchises Marvel, Star Wars, Predator, mais il ya fort à parier que Sideshow dévoilent d'autres choses. Dans le communiqué de presse ils mentionnent spécifiquement, que des licences comme Avatar et Le Seigneur des Anneaux sont des prétendants à venir.

Il n'y a aucun mot sur les prix ou la date de sortie pour une de ces statues. Mais avec de nombreuses Premium Format Figure au prix de 300 $ ou plus, il ya fort à parier que ces statues seront plus près de 1000 $. Peut-être que le moment est bon pour un troisième hypothèque.

"A Kotobukiya Japanese import! The last member of the DC Comics Bishoujo Collection (combining DC’s superheroines and villains with traditional Japanese stylings) was the heroic Supergirl, and coming right after her is the floral femme fatale Poison Ivy! Born Pamela Lillian Isley, the woman who would one day haunt Batman and Gotham City was an up and coming botanist and biochemist. A crazy professor betrayed her and injected her with a mixture of poisons, unleashing in Poison Ivy the abilities to control plant life and create her own floral toxins. Working with a variety of evil partners Isley would embark on a life of crime, although occasionally serving as love interest for Bruce Wayne! Poison Ivy appears here for the first time in the Japanese bishoujo (pretty girl) style inspired by Japan’s renowned illustrator Shunya Yamashita!

One of the most detailed statues in the DC Bishoujo lineup to date, Poison Ivy struts her stuff in all of her verdant glory. The sexy eco-terrorist stands proudly among her growing vegetation, high-heeled legs spread apart and hands on her hips. Her notoriously skimpy outfit is recreated in a tiny one piece that shows off all of her beautiful curves. There are a lot of really cool sculpted details like the leafy fringe on her clothing, the tendrils wrapped around her arms like jewelry, and the flowers blooming in Poison Ivy’s hair. Naturally, green is her predominant color. Completing the villainous vixen’s look is her long flowing hair that seemingly has a life of its own, and like all the pretty ladies in her series Poison Ivy has a hauntingly attractive Bishoujo-styled face.

Sculpted by Takashi Tsukada, Poison Ivy stands in 1/7 scale. Constructed of high-quality pvc plastic, the green lady stands on an exclusive base featuring intricate vines and snake-like creepers, some of which wind seductively up her legs!

The movie-accurate Shadow Predator collectible is specially crafted based on his image in the movie, highlighting the newly developed head and body, body armor, as well as highly detailed weapons and accessories.

The 1/6th scale Shadow Predator Collectible Figure specially features:

- Authentic and detailed fully realized likeness of Shadow Predator in the movie Predator 2

- Realistic and accurate 1/6th scale of approximately 14 inches / 35 cm tall
